Capturing audio and video on the cheap or How to keep the wife happy while buying lots of electronic equipment
March 26 10:00AM
As the years have gone on, I've acquired quite a bit of audio and a little bit of video equipment as part of the Utah Open Source Foundation. Most of the equipment I've purchased has been as inexpensive as possible. The ultimate plan to make a 'recording kit' for Local User Groups (LUGs) and others who wish to do podcasts or
other audio/video recording.

In my presentation, I will cover the equipment I have used over the last few years recording presentations using both audio and video. I'll talk about audio mixers, screencasting software, recording audio only, streaming and much more.

I'll be recording my presentation with a new bit of software I've been using lately. It's called freeseer (http://github.com/fosslc/freeseer) and has was created by some very nice fellows in Canada. Recently, I've become a contributor to the project and will show you how you can use their software. If you are interested in getting started on the cheap or are looking for quality
solutions on alternate operating systems, this presentation is for you.
